PROCEDURES FOR
CYCLE
TRANSPORTATION
- At
J.H. Retief Transport we realise the
anxiety and stress in finalising your
pre-Cape
Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour race arrangements, especially
when it comes to the safe transportation
of your bicycle. Based on previous
experience, we believe in an
uncomplicated and dedicated service
delivery.

HOW WE PACK YOUR
BICYCLE
-
- We remove the front
wheel of the bicycle to enable the handlebars to turn
sideways. The front wheel is wrapped with bubble wrap
in preparation for transportation.
- The rest of the
bicycle is then covered with a blanket and boxed in our
specially designed carton, together with its separate
wrapped front wheel.
- The bicycle, front
wheel and carton are all labeled with your name and
booking number. On handing your bicycle over to us, you
will also receive a unique label as proof . This label
must be presented during collection of your bicycle.
- NB
- Due to height restrictions of the carton, it may be
necessary to remove the saddle in extreme cases.
However, the height of the saddle will be marked before
removal, and like the front wheel, be wrapped and
transported with the rest of the bicycle in the same
box.

INSURANCE
- “In contrast with previous
years where restricted insurance
were offered as an optional extra to
the transportation cost, it will
this year be included in the price.
Therefore, restricted insurance
against occurrences such as fire,
collision, overturning and
hi-jacking to the value as declared
on the application, but limited to
the maximum value of R20 000-00 is
included in the transportation cost.
No additional payments will be
required to obtain coverage.”
